What is a waterproof cast and can you swim in it?

A waterproof cast is a step above a simple cast cover. They are made with traditional fibreglass casting tape, but they differ greatly by the padding materials that are used under the hard cast shell. This padding is waterproof or water-resistant and allows you to bathe, shower, and even swim all while in a cast.

We carry 2 brands of waterproof cast materials: Delta Dry and OrthoNeal. If you order one of our kits, you get everything you need to make a fully water-resistant cast. Simply take it to your Doctor and have it applied.
